Weekend
Play rehearsal, soccer, football, painting and staying up too late all in one weekend. Now it's time to begin a new week. Sherri didn't feel well Saturday night but is doing better today. She will be subbing at Kelly Creek tomorrow but just for a half day. Luke had his first flag football game on Saturday. His team lost by one touchdown. Or should I say they lost to a very fast girl. This little (somewhat) girl could really motor. We could stop the whole team but as soon as she got around the corner it was all over. Luke did really well considering he is playing with fifth and sixth graders. I got recruited into the assistant coach position by my friend who is the head coach. The kids love playing and of course all want to play QB.
Eric had another soccer game with the same results as usual. He did make some nice saves and scored one of the goals in the 5-2 loss. I must admit, football is so much more fun to watch than soccer but watching Eric is fun.
Sam had rehearsal Friday night for four hours and Saturday morning for another four hours. He's really in his element with this theater stuff and around some really good kids.
I was the one up too late playing cards and then painted the garage since the weather was nice today. Didn't quite finish so I'm hoping for a few more nice days this fall. they've been few and far between.

It's just the beginning!
I guess we've entered the 21st century with our own blog! We are busy, busy, busy with life. Sherri is substitute teaching and working part time for Christian Youth Theater. For a couple years now she has been trying to get CYT in Gresham and now it has finally happened. We (she mostly) have been driving to Vancouver to be a part of CYT Vancouver. The half hour drive (on a good day) was getting old but the relationships for Sam and Sherri that have developed have been priceless with those families in Washington. Sam has been involved in at least four plays across the river and has had a great time. The first play scheduled here in Gresham is "Your a Good Man Charlie Brown". Sherri's title is the Show Coordinator. Sam has a small part but does get to be in the special dancing group which was one of the things he wanted to do. For those of you in the area we will be letting you know when it opens.
Eric is playing soccer and enjoying it except for the results of each game. Wins are not abundant but Eric is a good goalie and has scored most of the goals for his team as well. I suppose if he would just get his hair cut he might see the ball better and score or block even more.
Luke is playing flag football for the YMCA. He's in fourth grade but is playing with fifth and sixth graders. His first game is this Saturday and then right after we go to Eric's game and while this is going on, Sam and Sherri are at play rehearsal. Good thing we just bought a Suburban for the gas mileage.
I have been busy with school starting up. The year has gone well so far. I've only sent home about five kindergarteners so far that had a little trouble adjusting. Once they adjust, then it's the junior highers that will get most of my attention. I sure enjoy being at school with Eric and Luke though. And I miss not seeing Sam as much.
